Team Lead Frontend Development (f/m/d)

Your mission

You own the frontend architecture and technical direction of the platform, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability
You drive the evolution of our React-based frontend, including state management, server-side rendering with Node.js, and modern build and deployment tooling
You define and uphold engineering standards across code quality, testing, performance, accessibility, and security
You make sound technical decisions and ensure strong alignment with backend, platform, and product architecture
You lead, coach, and develop a team of frontend engineers, including hiring, onboarding, performance development, and career growth
You foster a high-trust, high-accountability engineering culture focused on feedback, learning, ownership, and craftsmanship
You enable collaboration, pairing, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team
You act as the primary frontend point of contact for Product, Design, and Engineering leadership
You support the transition from functionally separated teams to cross-functional, value-aligned teams where it makes sense
You own frontend delivery outcomes, ensuring predictable planning, prioritisation, quality, and execution
You work closely with Product Management and Design to translate business and user needs into executable technical roadmaps
You balance feature delivery, platform evolution, and technical debt in a sustainable way

Your profile

5+ years of experience building robust, scalable, and performant web applications using React and the modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem.
Deep understanding of React, state management patterns (e.g. Redux or alternatives), and frontend architecture principles.
Experience with Server-Side Rendering (e.g. Node.js), modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack, Rollup), and CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience with technical integration of advertising platforms, including ad serving, tracking implementation, and tag management.
Proven ability to collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and product managers.
First hand experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating other developers (either formally as a Team Lead or informally as a senior technologist).
Strong ownership mindset: you care about outcomes, not just output.
Excellent English skills for working in our international team; German is a plus.

Deine Aufgaben

Du übernimmst die technische Verantwortung für die Frontend-Architektur der Plattform und entwickelst sie mit Blick auf Skalierbarkeit, Performance, Zuverlässigkeit und langfristige Wartbarkeit kontinuierlich weiter
Du gestaltest und treibst die Weiterentwicklung unseres React-basierten Frontends voran, inklusive State Management, Server-Side Rendering mit Node.js sowie moderner Build- und Deployment-Toolchains
Du definierst, etablierst und sicherst Engineering-Standards in Bezug auf Codequalität, Testing, Performance, Accessibility und Security
Du triffst fundierte technische Entscheidungen und sorgst für eine enge Abstimmung mit Backend-, Plattform- und Produktarchitektur
Du führst, coachst und entwickelst ein Frontend-Team, inklusive Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance-Entwicklung und individueller Karrierepfade
Du schaffst eine vertrauensvolle, leistungsorientierte Engineering-Kultur mit Fokus auf Feedback, Lernen, Ownership und handwerkliche Qualität
Du förderst Zusammenarbeit, Pairing, Wissensaustausch und kontinuierliche Verbesserung im Team
Du bist zentrale Ansprechperson für Frontend-Themen gegenüber Product, Design und Engineering Management
Du unterstützt den Übergang von rein funktionalen Teams hin zu cross-funktionalen, wertorientierten Teamstrukturen, wo dies sinnvoll ist
Du verantwortest Frontend-Delivery und stellst verlässliche Planung, Priorisierung, Qualität und Umsetzung sicher
Du arbeitest eng mit Product Management und Design zusammen, um fachliche und nutzerzentrierte Anforderungen in umsetzbare technische Roadmaps zu übersetzen
Du sorgst für eine nachhaltige Balance zwischen Feature-Delivery, technischer Weiterentwicklung und dem Abbau technischer Schulden

Dein Profil

Mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung in der Entwicklung robuster, skalierbarer und performanter Webanwendungen mit React sowie im modernen JavaScript-/TypeScript-Ökosystem
Tiefgehendes Verständnis von React, gängigen State-Management-Ansätzen (z. B. Redux oder Alternativen) und grundlegenden Prinzipien moderner Frontend-Architektur
Erfahrung mit Server-Side Rendering (z. B. mit Node.js), modernen Build-Tools (Vite, Webpack, Rollup) sowie CI/CD-Pipelines
Praktische Erfahrung in der technischen Integration von Werbe- und Advertising-Plattformen, einschließlich Ad Serving, Tracking-Implementierungen und Tag-Management
Nachweisliche Fähigkeit zur engen Zusammenarbeit mit UX/UI-Designer:innen, Backend-Engineer:innen und Product Manager:innen
Erste Führungserfahrung in der Anleitung, im Mentoring oder in der Koordination anderer Entwickler:innen – entweder formal als Team Lead oder informell in einer Senior-Rolle

Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse für die Arbeit in einem internationalen Team; Deutschkenntnisse sind ein Plus
